The future of transportation is taking place right here among us, according to the Albuquerque Journal. Scientists at Sandia Labs are testing car batteries for plug in cars to their limits.


The Journal also reports that you might be paying higher heating bills this summer because of a price spike in natural gas.

 


Residents of about 2,900 households hooked up to the Eldorado Area Water and Sanitation District face a summer of uncertainty about when they will be able to use water outdoors more than one day a week, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports.

 


The Farmington Daily Times reports that since 2006, 125 parents in San Juan County were criminally charged for allowing their children to habitually miss school. In the same time period, the much larger Albuquerque school district has charged just nine.

 


Locals are visiting attractions close to home in southern New Mexico due to the high price of gas, the Las Cruces Sun-News reports.
