Someone's got a red face today.
That someone is the announcer who trumpeted the entrance of GOP presidential nominee John McCain and Ben Lujan, as the two men walked into Tuesday's Town Hall meeting in Albuquerque.
Ben Lujan, the Democratic Speaker of the House, the man whose son is running for the 3rd Congressional District as a Democrat, joined McCain in Albuquerque in the Southwestern equivalent of a Lieberman, you might ask?
Nope. Actually, the man walking with McCain was Manuel Lujan, the former Republican congressman from New Mexico who served as the Secretary of the Interior under President George H.W. Bush.
A few scribes noted the miscue with raised eyebrows and furtive chortles. Neither McCain nor Lujan appeared to take offense. Later, during the event, McCain correctly identified his friend.
